Soon closing: Off-grid Arizona bar located down a 5-mile dirt road

Located in a remote corner of western Arizona, the Desert Bar, also known as the Nellie E Saloon, is a unique off-grid solar-powered bar tucked away down a dirt road in a canyon. However, this hidden gem will be closing for the summer season on Sunday, April 27, due to the extreme heat in the area.

Reopening in early October, the Desert Bar offers visitors the chance to enjoy a cold drink surrounded by cacti, old mining relics, and live music. To reach the bar, visitors can head north on State Route 95 from Parker, Arizona, and then turn onto Cienega Springs Road for a scenic 5-mile drive.

While the road to the Desert Bar is unpaved and recommended for high-clearance vehicles, carefully driven cars can usually make the journey as well. Once there, visitors can enjoy the unique experience of sipping a beer in the middle of the desert before the bar closes for the season. For more information, visitors can check out the Desert Bar’s Facebook page.
