Arizona ends GCU’s winning streak

Grand Canyon’s winning streak against Arizona came to an end with a 14-4 loss on Tuesday night. The Wildcats scored eight unanswered runs to secure the victory in seven innings. Despite a strong performance from senior third baseman Eli Paton, who delivered a two-run single, GCU couldn’t overcome the early deficit. The Lopes had previously won four consecutive games against Arizona, including victories in the 2024 regular season and NCAA tournament. The team is now looking to bounce back in a WAC series against Utah Tech. GCU used five pitchers in an attempt to slow down the Wildcats’ offense, but ultimately fell short. The Lopes will need to regroup and refocus in order to regain their momentum in conference play. Stay tuned for updates as Grand Canyon looks to bounce back from their recent defeat.
