Eaton announced on Tuesday that Traxen’s iQ-Cruise adaptive and predictive cruise control system is now available in Canada, a significant advancement in the commercial transportation industry. Through Eaton’s exclusive global alliance with Michigan-based Traxen, Canadian customers can now enjoy the fuel efficiency and sustainability benefits of the system, tailored specifically for their country.
The iQ-Cruise system integrates adaptive and predictive cruise control using AI technology to optimize fuel efficiency for Class 8 commercial vehicles. By utilizing GPS, advanced algorithms, and high-definition 3D maps, the system calculates the most efficient driving style in real-time. With updated software supporting Canadian HD maps from HERE Technologies, the system is customized for Canada’s unique geography and road networks, providing substantial fuel savings and environmental benefits for fleets.
To ensure seamless operation in Canada, Eaton and Traxen worked with AT&T to confirm cellular coverage through roaming agreements with Canadian providers. The system has also been tailored for Canadian customers by converting units from Imperial to metric and integrating French-Canadian translation capabilities.
Eaton’s commitment to delivering region-specific solutions that maximize efficiency and sustainability is highlighted through the expansion of iQ-Cruise into Canada. This system, available through a monthly subscription, includes hardware, installation support, and regular software updates for commercial vehicle service centers. By adapting their technology for the Canadian market, Traxen and Eaton are providing fleet owners and operators with the tools to unlock new levels of efficiency and sustainability tailored to their specific needs.
