Patricia Prelock has been chosen as the new provost at the University of Arizona after 30 years of distinguished service at the University of Vermont. The Board of Trustees extends their warm congratulations to her for this achievement and thanks her for her numerous contributions during her time at UVM. As provost, Patty played a key role in leading the university to historic accomplishments and fostering important relationships within the UVM community.
The trustees commend Patty for her leadership during the challenging times of the pandemic and appreciate her stepping in as interim president with grace and wisdom. Her decision to move to Arizona was influenced by a mix of personal and professional factors, including the opportunity to spend more time with her family.
The UVM community wishes Patty great success in her new role and is confident that she will excel in her collaboration with President Suresh Garimella at the University of Arizona. Until her departure on May 19, UVM will continue to benefit from Patty’s capable leadership.
