Former Arizona Wildcats guard KJ Lewis has decided to transfer to Georgetown, as reported by ESPN’s Jeff Borzello. Lewis made the decision to enter the transfer portal just two days after Arizona’s loss to Duke in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The sophomore from El Paso, Texas was the first player to announce his departure following the 2024-25 season.
During his time at Arizona, Lewis averaged 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while playing in all 37 possible games. In the postseason, he performed even better, averaging 12.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in six games.
Despite a quieter offensive performance in the game against Duke, where he scored just six points on 3-of-9 shooting, Lewis has shown his potential on the court. With Caleb Love and Trey Townsend both out of eligibility, Arizona is looking to strengthen its roster with the addition of local star Koa Peat from Perry High School and four-star player Dwayne Aristode from New Hampshire.
Additionally, Bryce James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, committed to Arizona in January. Lewis’ move to Georgetown is a significant development in college basketball’s transfer landscape, and fans will be eager to see how he adapts to his new team.
