The Vegas Golden Knights recently completed a successful trip to Arizona, spreading awareness of hockey and growing the sport in the desert. Led by Sheri Hudspeth, Director of Youth Hockey Programs and Fan Development, the team engaged with hundreds of kids and families through various events including ball hockey clinics, on-ice hockey clinics, watch parties, and Q&A sessions. The trip included the team’s first visit to a school in the Phoenix area and the first all-girls clinic with the Golden Knights in Arizona. The goal was to show that hockey belongs in the desert and can be enjoyed by everyone.
The trip was a huge success, with over 400 kids participating in clinics and many hearts mended about hockey returning to the area. Parents expressed gratitude for the Golden Knights’ commitment to keeping hockey in the desert. The team left Arizona feeling appreciated and welcomed. This trip was just the beginning, with plans to continue growing the game in Arizona in the future.
