Wildcats mount an impressive comeback to defeat Mountaineers 11-4 and clinch series victory

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team made history by securing their first-ever Big 12 road series win with an 11-4 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Shortstop Mason White’s two-run home run in the eighth inning proved to be the decisive blow, leading Arizona to victory. Catcher Adonys Guzman also had a standout performance with a multi-home run game, including a solo shot and a two-run blast that helped solidify the Cats’ lead. The Wildcats’ bullpen was dominant, allowing just two runs and four hits over the final 6.2 innings of the game. Right-handers Tony Pluta and Casey Hintz played a key role in shutting down the Mountaineers offense. Mason White’s go-ahead home run in the eighth inning marked the 33rd of his career, moving him into a tie for 7th in program history. Arizona will return home for a midweek matchup against Seattle U on Tuesday, March 26 at Hi Corbett Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
