Arizona highway crash leaves Korean family missing during winter storm

Authorities in Arizona are searching for three missing women who were traveling on Interstate 40 around the time of a massive weather-related crash. The missing family, visiting from South Korea, consists of 33-year-old Jiyeon Lee and her mother, 59-year-old Taehee Kim, and aunt, 54-year-old Junghee Kim. They were driving in a rental car with California license plate 9KHN768 and were last seen on March 13th near where the crash occurred.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Korean Consulate in Los Angeles to find the missing women, as their GPS data stopped abruptly after the crash. Investigators have conducted extensive searches, but have found no sign of the family so far.

Authorities are unsure if the missing family was involved in the crash or if foul play was involved. They are seeking information from the public and asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office. The Korean Consulate has also sent an officer to collaborate with law enforcement in the search.
