Arizona Blanks Kansas 5-0 in No. 23 vs No. 22 Matchup

Kansas baseball suffered a 5-0 loss to Arizona in a non-conference game at Hi Corbett Field on Tuesday night. The Jayhawks were held to just four hits and were shut out for the first time this season. Arizona took an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning, one in the second, and two in the fourth. Despite opportunities in the eighth inning, Kansas was unable to capitalize and fell to 17-4 overall on the season.

Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald expressed frustration with the team’s performance, noting that Arizona is a strong opponent that will pose challenges in the Big 12 conference. The Jayhawks were shut out for the first time since April 6, 2024, against West Virginia. Pitchers Gavin Brasosky, Thaniel Trumper, and Robbie Knowles had solid performances in relief.

Kansas will now travel to Tempe, Arizona for a three-game conference series against Arizona State from March 21-23, with all games broadcast on ESPN+.
