Women’s Golf Adapts to Weather Conditions to Split Arizona Trip into Two 18-Hole Events

Morehead State women’s golf team adapted to adverse weather conditions during the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Arizona. Due to snow, the tournament had to be halted and eventually finished with just 18 holes. Despite this challenge, the Eagles managed to stick around and participate in a separate event called the Sedona Shootout.

In the Red Rocks, Morehead State finished in eighth place with freshman Tavia Burgess leading the team with an even-par 72. Junior Tuva Marie Isebakke and senior Hanna Montgomery also had strong showings with scores of 73 each.

During the final 18-hole round of the Sedona Shootout, Morehead State once again scored a 294 as a team, with Isebakke leading the squad with a score of 72. The Eagles ended up in second place behind Grand Canyon, who won the tournament by just one stroke.

Overall, despite the challenging weather conditions, Morehead State’s women’s golf team demonstrated resilience and skill in both the Red Rocks Invitational and the Sedona Shootout.
