The University of Wyoming men’s golf team is gearing up to compete in the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club. The tournament, taking place on Monday and Tuesday, features a challenging course that stretches 7,533 yards and is a par 72. Wyoming has participated in this event for the past four seasons, with last year’s fifth-place finish being their best yet, thanks to Kristof Panke’s 22nd place performance.
After placing 12th at the Lamkin Invitational, the team is looking to improve their standings in the upcoming tournament. Freshman Brody Leid has been a standout player, with two top-25 finishes in the last two tournaments. The rest of the Cowboys’ lineup includes Panke, Jaren Calkins, Patrick Azevedo, and Damon Vilkauskas, with Davis Seybert competing as an individual.
Following the Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, Wyoming will head to the Duck Invite in Eugene, Oregon on March 24-25. The team is confident and ready to take on the competition in these upcoming tournaments.
