Arizona defeats the Lopes in a close match

Grand Canyon University’s women’s tennis team lost to No. 31 ranked Arizona in a match in Tucson, with only six players available for the roster. The Lopes won just one set in doubles, with Bella Crossman and Dania Deaifi winning as a pair for the third time this year. Arizona took the doubles point and then won the singles matches in straight sets, with freshmen Peyton Duckett and Crossman as the first two courts to fall. Grand Canyon’s Gala Arangio lost the clincher, while Deaifi had a second-set lead before the match was unfinished. Grand Canyon, with a record of 8-6, will play against Northern Arizona on Thursday at 10 a.m. The match was rescheduled after being cancelled the previous week. The team will look to rebound and come back stronger in the next match.
