Scottsdale ranks as the 8th happiest city in the United States, while Phoenix places 106th on the list.

Scottsdale, Gilbert, and Chandler have been recognized among the happiest cities in the U.S. in a recent study by WalletHub. Scottsdale took the eighth spot, while Gilbert and Chandler ranked 26th and 40th, respectively. Phoenix, on the other hand, came in at 106th, and Tucson at a lowly 161st. The happiest city overall was Fremont, California, followed by San Jose and Irvine.

Scottsdale performed well across the three major categories of emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. Gilbert was noted for having the fifth-lowest separation and divorce rate in the country. Phoenix struggled in the community and environment category.

The study awarded points based on factors like depression rate, sports-participation rate, income-growth rate, and ideal weather. Cities in the Midwest, such as Detroit and Cleveland, ranked among the least happy in the U.S. WalletHub’s study aimed to provide insight into the overall well-being of residents in various cities across the country.
