The Arizona men’s golf team is set to host the 45th annual Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club on March 17-18th. The Wildcats have a history of dominance at their home tournament, having won six of the past seven years and sweeping the titles at last year’s event. They will be facing off against a strong field of 13 teams, including four teams ranked in the top 30. The Cats lineup features Filip Jakubcik, Zach Pollo, Johnny Walker, Tianyi Xiong, and Matej Baca, with Griffin Rhoads and Jackson Norwich competing as individuals.
In past years, the Wildcats have excelled at the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate, with 12 team victories and 12 individual titles in the history of the event. They are currently ranked 25th nationally and will be looking to improve their ranking with a strong performance at this year’s tournament. This will be the eighth time the event is held at Tucson Country Club, with the Wildcats hoping to continue their winning streak.
