AZ Game & Fish officer rescues fawn covered in cholla cactus spikes

An Arizona Game & Fish Department wildlife officer, Troy Moody, recently rescued a deer fawn in Chloride, Arizona, after it was covered in cholla spines. The fawn was found with spines in its eyelids, nose, and mouth, preventing it from eating or drinking. Officer Moody successfully removed all the spines, ensuring there were no lasting injuries to the fawn. The rescue was made possible after a call was made to the department’s radio dispatch center, and Officer Moody was able to chemically immobilize the fawn to safely remove the spines. Fortunately, the fawn was reunited with its mother and appeared to be in good health after the incident. This heartwarming story showcases the dedication of wildlife officers to protect and care for animals in need.
