Arizona Biotech Startups Secure $100K Funding from Flinn Foundation Entrepreneurship Program

Anuncia Medical and Macula Vision Systems, two Arizona bioscience companies, have been chosen to receive funding through the 2025 Flinn Foundation Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program. Anuncia Medical, based in Scottsdale, is focused on improving treatment options for hydrocephalus patients, while Macula Vision Systems, located in Oro Valley, is developing an automated microscopy solution for clinical laboratories. Both companies will receive $100,000 in non-dilutive funding as well as access to professional services, networking opportunities, and a one-year membership on Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee.

The 2025 program, announced at the Flinn Foundation Bio Capital Conference, saw a total of 49 companies apply, with 10 finalists selected to make pitches before a selection committee. While Anuncia Medical and Macula Vision Systems were selected for funding, the other eight finalists will still have the opportunity to benefit from networking and advisory services through the Flinn Foundation. This program aims to support Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap and foster growth within the state’s bioscience entrepreneurship community.
