A security guard at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center in Arizona was shot and wounded over the weekend in the latest incident highlighting the increasing violence against healthcare workers in the U.S. The suspected shooter, identified as Maximillian Yanofsky, was quickly disarmed and taken into custody by the hospital’s security team and staff before police arrived.
Yanofsky was booked on multiple charges, including aggravated assault, and the injured security guard was taken to a trauma center for treatment. Another security guard suffered minor injuries during the incident.
