Tennessee Baseball Claims Victory in Astros Foundation College Classic
Tennessee baseball continued their winning streak with a 5-1 victory over Arizona in the 2025 Astros Foundation College Classic championship game. The Volunteers, now 11-0, hit three more home runs and showcased strong pitching, holding Arizona to just one run.
Dean Curley and Gavin Kilen led the offense, combining for five hits, while Andrew Fischer, Levi Clark, and Cannon Peebles contributed with home runs. Pitchers Tegan Kuhns, Brandon Arvidson, and Nate Snead shut down Arizona’s offense, with Dylan Loy and Ryan Combs closing out the game.
Junior second baseman Kilen had a standout weekend, leading the team in offensive categories with seven runs, four home runs, and seven RBIs. The Vols’ pitching staff impressed with a 1.67 ERA and 45 strikeouts in the tournament.
This win marks Tennessee’s fourth tournament title under head coach Tony Vitello. The Vols will continue their season with a 10-game homestand starting with games against Radford and Xavier before facing St. Bonaventure next weekend.
