In November, Arizona Breaks Sports Betting Records

Arizona saw record sports betting numbers for the second consecutive month in November 2024, with a betting handle of $897.6 million and all-time high revenue. Online betting accounted for $890 million of the total, while retail wagers made up $7.6 million. Consumer winnings reached $811.3 million, resulting in an adjusted gross event wagering receipts record of $84.1 million.

FanDuel led the way in Arizona with $29.9 million in adjusted gross event wagering receipts from a $288.6 million handle, giving them a 10.36% monthly hold. DraftKings followed closely behind in second place with $25.7 million in revenue from a $293.4 million handle and an 8.76% hold. BetMGM rounded out the top three with $12.7 million in receipts from a $111.6 million handle, resulting in an 11.38% hold.

Other operators like Caesars, Fanatics, Bet365, ESPN Bet, and Hard Rock Digital also saw solid revenue numbers, with most of the earnings coming from online betting.

Tax-wise, Arizona collected $5.7 million in November, with the majority coming from online sports betting, which is taxed at 10%. Retail betting, taxed at 8%, generated much less at just $57,358.

Overall, the sports betting industry in Arizona continues to thrive, setting records in both handle and revenue month after month. The competition between top operators like FanDuel and DraftKings remains fierce, driving growth and innovation in the state.
