Antonio Reyes, a 21-year-old man, has been charged with six murders and four attempted murders that occurred in 2020 when he was only 17. Prosecutors allege that Reyes went on a serial killing spree on Chicago’s southwest side. Reyes pleaded not guilty to the charges, which are all from the same year. He was already in custody for a sixth murder case from 2020. Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke expressed sadness over the fact that a 17-year-old could commit serial murders over the course of nine months. Reyes was first arrested in December 2020 for the murder of Luis Davalos, who was found shot in the head in June 2020. While in jail awaiting trial for the Davalos murder, Reyes allegedly attacked a fellow inmate, with those charges pending. The new charges include the alleged murders of four other individuals in March, April, May, and November 2020, as well as the attempted murders of others in November 2020. Three of the attempted murder charges stem from an incident where a 31-year-old man was killed while with his three children. Reyes is currently being held without bail. Information about his attorney was not immediately available.
