ASU’s Jayden Quaintance sidelined for Saturday game against Utah

ASU center Jayden Quaintance has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Utah after suffering a noncontact knee injury during Sunday’s win over Kansas State. The injury occurred on a drive, with Quaintance initially attempting to get up but ultimately leaving the game. Despite the early exit, Quaintance had a team-high 18 points in the victory. Coach Bobby Hurley expressed concerns about the severity of the injury and Quaintance reportedly left the arena on crutches.

In addition to Quaintance’s absence, guard Adam Miller faced some physical challenges during Wednesday’s loss, including an elbow to the chest and a shot to the hip. Despite being sidelined for part of the game, Miller returned for the second half and even forced a double-technical for retaliating against physical play. Miller assured reporters that he is ready to play in the upcoming game against Utah and is already focusing on guarding Utah’s leading scorer, Gabe Madsen.

The loss of Quaintance, coupled with Miller’s physical struggles, presents a challenge for ASU as they prepare to face Utah. However, the team remains determined and focused on overcoming these obstacles to secure a victory. Coach Hurley and the players are determined to put forth their best effort on Saturday and continue their efforts to rebound from recent setbacks.
