Opportunity for GCU to Turn Around Early-Season Struggles In the Late Season

Grand Canyon University (GCU) may not be a lock for the NCAA tournament like last year, but they are on a hot streak and still have a chance to make it to the Big Dance. After a slow start, the team has won eight of its last nine games. Coach Bryce Drew is optimistic about their performance and believes they are peaking at the right time.

The team recently had two big road wins in Texas and are gearing up for a game against Cal Baptist. While an at-large bid may be unlikely, GCU is currently second in the WAC and could secure a spot in the tournament with three wins in the conference tournament starting on March 12.

Reigning WAC Player of the Year Tyon Grant-Foster has been a key player in the team’s recent success, turning around his season in the last 8-1 stretch. His improved scoring and efficiency have boosted the team’s performance, and his determination to finish the season strong has been evident.

The team is focused on playing their best basketball in March and has the experience and talent to succeed in the postseason. With five regular-season games left, GCU is determined to finish strong and make a mark in the conference tournament. Grant-Foster, who was last year’s WAC Tournament MVP, is poised to lead the team to another successful postseason run.
