West Virginia Prepares to Host Arizona State for Senior Day, Honoring Greg Jones

West Virginia University’s wrestling team, currently ranked No. 24, will face off against Arizona State in their final match of the regular season on Sunday, February 23rd. The match, which will be held at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown and broadcast on ESPN+, will also serve as senior day to honor 11 Mountaineers. Additionally, the team will recognize former wrestler Greg Jones for his three NCAA National Championships.

Currently boasting a record of 9-7, West Virginia is looking to bounce back from a recent loss to Wyoming. Standout performances from senior Jett Strickenberger and fifth-year Peyton Hall have been notable highlights for the team. Hall is just three wins away from tying the program’s all-time win record held by Jones.

Four Mountaineers are ranked in the latest FloWrestling individual rankings, with Strickenberger and Hall holding top spots in their respective weight classes. The team also has members featured in the coaches’ rankings and the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

Fans are encouraged to support the Wrestling Sport Enhancement Fund to help provide resources for the team’s success. For more information on the Mountaineers, visit WVUsports.com and follow WVU Wrestling on social media.
