Belmont University Softball Program travels to Tempe, Arizona for the Littlewood Classic hosted by Arizona State and Grand Canyon. The Bruins started the season with a 2-3 record, with standout pitcher Maya Johnson earning accolades for her performance. Johnson recorded a perfect game against Eastern Kentucky and was named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week. Belmont’s pitching staff boasts a conference-best 1.93 ERA, while Emily Cockrill led the team in hits and RBI over opening weekend. The Bruins return all four All-MVC honorees from last season, including Nicole Hughes, who was a key player on offense in 2024. Belmont will face their first ranked opponent of the season, no. 21 Oregon, on Sunday and will compete against power-four opponents during the tournament.
