The University of Arizona showcased its excellence and impact in various fields during events in Phoenix this week. At the Fuel Wonder Phoenix event, the university’s interdisciplinary expertise in health and wellness was highlighted, with over 300 attendees engaging with groundbreaking work from multiple disciplines. The event featured 17 Wonder Station booths demonstrating projects that explore STEM-focused health topics, arts, student experience, and humanities.
University leaders, including President Garimella, also attended the Arizona Board of Regents meeting at Arizona State University, where the ongoing scientific discoveries from the OSIRIS-REx mission and recent recognition of university community members were praised. The board approved the sale of university-owned land in Yuma County for the construction of a new building to support the university’s land-grant mission.
Additionally, four new degree programs were approved for enrollment as early as the fall semester. The ABOR meeting will continue with regular board business on Friday.
