Two people, including the victim’s husband, have been charged in connection with the death of Fort Campbell soldier Pfc. Katia Dueñas-Aguilar. Sofia Rodas, 35, has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence, while Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, has been charged with tampering with evidence. Dueñas-Aguilar, 23, was found dead in her Clarksville home on May 18, 2024, and local police are investigating her death as a homicide. Cruz and Rodas were already in custody on unrelated charges when they were indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury and extradited to Clarksville. They are currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail, with Cruz scheduled for arraignment on Monday and Rodas to be given a court date in the upcoming weeks. The case remains open and the investigation is ongoing, with the Clarksville Police Department emphasizing the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and military authorities in addressing crimes that impact service members and their families.
