Several of R. Kelly’s victims filed a petition in New York County Supreme Court seeking to collect the $9 million still owed to them after winning a civil judgment against the singer. The petitioners include Lizzette Martinez, Lisa Van Allen, and Faith Rodgers, along with Kelly Rogers, Roderick Gartrell, and Gem Pratts. A judgment of $10.3 million was entered against Kelly in August 2023, but the petitioners claim they have only received a little over $200,000 from Kelly, which only covered interest on his liability for 82 days. This leaves a balance of $9.9 million still owed to the victims. Kelly was sentenced to a total of 50 years in prison for federal child sex, racketeering, and sex trafficking convictions. The filing also names Donnell Russell, Universal Music Publishing, Inc., and other companies as defendants. Lawyers for Universal Music Publishing and Russell could not be reached for comment. Kelly’s attorney also could not be reached for comment. The petitioners are seeking the full payment of the judgment owed to them by Kelly.
