The Golden State Warriors have shifted their focus to acquiring Jimmy Butler after their failed pursuit of Kevin Durant, according to NBA Insider Marc Stein. Durant reportedly does not want to play for Golden State and prefers to stay in Phoenix. The Warriors could use Dennis Schröder’s expiring contract as part of a trade deal for Butler, whose player option for 2025-26 is worth $52.4 million. Despite interest from the Warriors, Butler is not interested in re-signing with Golden State. The Suns are also looking to trade for Butler, who is currently with the Miami Heat and could become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his player option. The trade deadline is Thursday at 1 p.m. MST. Stay updated on the latest NBA trade news by following @veenstra_david.
