All indications point to Kevin Durant staying with the Phoenix Suns

ESPN’s Shams Charania recently reported that there are strong indications that Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant will not be traded ahead of the NBA deadline. Despite interest from the Golden State Warriors in acquiring the 14-time All-Star, Durant reportedly has no interest in reuniting with his former team or being traded at all, as per Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.

The Warriors have shifted their focus from Durant and instead traded for Miami Heat forward and Suns trade target Jimmy Butler in a multi-team deal. Teams have been reaching out to the Suns about Durant, who, at 36 years old, is under contract until 2025-26 with a salary of $54.7 million in the final year of his contract.

Durant was sidelined for the Suns’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a sprained left ankle, which was their last game before the trade deadline. The deadline is scheduled for 1 p.m. MST on Thursday. It seems increasingly likely that Durant will remain with the Suns for the foreseeable future, as reported by various sources in the NBA world.

This news brings a sense of stability for the Suns and Durant’s future with the team, as he continues to be a key player despite his age and injury history. Fans can rest assured that Durant will stay put in Phoenix, at least for now.
