Sun Devil Men’s Golf Team to Compete in Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii
The #2-ranked Sun Devil Men’s Golf team is gearing up for the spring campaign as they head to Hawaii to participate in the Amer Ari Invitational at the Mauna Lani North Course. Two Sun Devils, Josele Ballester and Preston Summerhays, are ranked in the top-20 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The lineup for the tournament includes Michael Mjaaseth, Preston Summerhays, Connor Williams, Fifa Laopakdee, and Peer Wernicke.
Last season, ASU had a strong showing at the tournament, finishing with a school-best 63-under 801 and former Sun Devil Wenyi Ding winning the individual title. This year’s competition includes teams such as Oregon, Texas, UCLA, North Carolina, and more. The North Course, where the tournament will take place, offers a unique golfing experience with its rolling terrain and Kiawe forests. The signature hole, No. 17, is a par three nestled in a natural lava amphitheater. The Amer Ari Invitational promises to be an exciting event with top teams competing in the picturesque setting of Hawaii.
