ASU basketball narrowly defeats Colorado on the road with shorthanded team

Arizona State University’s basketball team pulled off a hard-fought 70-68 victory against Colorado on Tuesday night despite key injuries in the starting lineup. Freshman Jayden Quaintance was sidelined with an ankle sprain, and forward BJ Freeman left the game early due to injury. This left ASU with a six-man rotation for most of the game, with guards Adam Miller and Alston Mason playing heavy minutes and leading the team in scoring.

The game came down to the wire, with Colorado tying the score late in the game. However, ASU managed to pull ahead by three points with Basheer Jihad’s clutch play. The Sun Devils secured the win with a great defensive effort, including a crucial block by Shawn Phillips Jr.

The victory marked ASU’s second win in the last three games, with notable performances against West Virginia and No. 3 ranked Iowa State. The team now looks ahead to a highly anticipated matchup against the Arizona Wildcats at home on Saturday.

Despite the challenges posed by injuries, ASU showed resilience and determination in securing the crucial road win. With the rivalry game against Arizona looming, the Sun Devils will look to build on their recent success and continue their momentum in pursuit of more victories in the tough Pac-12 conference.
