Members of the EtherCAT Technology Group Elect Board of Directors at SPS 2024


Nuremberg, Germany – The EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) announced the re-election of all three board members at the SPS trade show in Nuremberg. Dmitry Dzilno from Applied Materials in California, Dr. Gerhard Grunwald from the German Aerospace Center, and Martin Rostan from Beckhoff Automation were unanimously re-elected to lead the organization for the next two years. The ETG, along with 51 co-exhibitors, presented over 500 EtherCAT products at their joint booth in Hall 5 at the trade show. Despite the current economic situation, the group reported an increase in the number of contacts made with visitors compared to the previous year.

The EtherCAT Technology Group is a global organization with over 7,950 members from 75 countries, making it the largest fieldbus organization in the world. Founded in 2003, it has seen rapid growth and is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and advancing EtherCAT technology. EtherCAT, introduced in 2003, is an Industrial Ethernet technology known for its high performance, low cost, and flexible topology. It has been recognized as an international IEC standard and a SEMI standard since 2007, and is open for anyone to implement or use.

The group’s activities at the SPS trade show were successful, showcasing the latest EtherCAT products and technologies. The ETG expressed its commitment to continue participating in trade shows worldwide and announced the upcoming event dates for 2025.
