ASU Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo selected as a finalist for the Broyles Award


Arizona State University’s offensive coordinator, Marcus Arroyo, has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Broyles Award, which recognizes college football’s best assistant coach. Arroyo is the sole offensive coach among the five finalists selected by a panel of voters comprising head coaches, broadcasters, and members of the Football Writers Association of America.

Arroyo has made significant contributions to Arizona State’s offensive success in 2024, with the team’s identity centered around running back Cam Skattebo, who ranks second in the nation with 2,074 scrimmage yards. The Sun Devils also benefited from wide receiver Jordyn Tyson’s standout performance before his season-ending injury, accumulating 1,101 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Quarterback Sam Leavitt’s impressive QBR of 11th in the country was bolstered by 24 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 383 rushing yards.

As a team, Arizona State ranked 30th in the country, averaging 33.1 points per game, and ranked 13th in expected points added (EPA) according to CollegeFootballInsiders.com. The Broyles Award winner will be announced on February 13, 2025, with Arroyo and the other finalists eagerly awaiting the outcome.
