Young football players from Arizona and the Navajo Nation compete in National Championships

Two young football players, Logan Begay and Reese Tsosie, are representing Arizona and the Navajo Nation at the American Youth Football National Championships in Florida this week. Both players are part of the 10-and-under Flagstaff Eagles and the PHX Allstars, a state-wide youth team that emphasizes excellence on and off the field. Despite the financial strain of traveling from Flagstaff to Phoenix for practices and then to Florida for the championships, both families are committed to supporting their sons’ passion for football. Studies show that the cost of youth sports in America is significant, and athletes from lower-income families are more likely to quit due to financial constraints. The boys’ coach, Jack Tongen, recognizes their hard work and dedication, describing them as exemplary kids from supportive families. As they head into the championships, Logan and Reese are fueled by the coach’s praise and are determined to give their best performance. To support these talented young athletes, donations can be made through their individual links.
