Scott Trepanier becomes a part of MeatEater, an outdoor lifestyle brand

Scott Trepanier has recently joined the outdoor media and consumer products company MeatEater as the Executive Vice President of Marketing. In this newly created role, Trepanier will be responsible for overseeing marketing for both the entertainment and consumer products divisions of the company. He expressed his excitement about working for MeatEater due to their strong emphasis on conservation and understanding the origins of food.

The entertainment side of the business includes a Netflix series, cookbooks, and a podcast, while the hunting gear side consists of various brands in the hunting space. Trepanier plans to focus on brand, product, and storytelling campaigns to build an emotional connection with customers. He reports to the CEO of MeatEater, Jason Bergsman, and oversees a team of 12 to 24 staff members.

Prior to joining MeatEater, Trepanier spent 14 years in marketing roles at Columbia Sportswear, where he last served as the VP of Marketing. He mentioned that he believes Columbia has not yet filled his former position and anticipates that they will take some time to determine their next steps in that regard.

MeatEater Inc. was established by writer and TV and podcast host Steven Rinella in 2018, with its headquarters located in Bozeman, Montana. Trepanier’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the company’s marketing efforts and further solidify their position in the outdoor media and consumer products industry.
