Five inmates who escaped from a tribal jail in northern Arizona have been captured, with one still on the run, according to authorities. The White Mountain Apache Tribe reported that the inmates escaped from the detention center on Saturday evening, with three being recaptured by 10:30 p.m. and two more by Sunday morning. The police did not provide details on how the men escaped, whether they worked together, or where they were found. Information on the inmates’ offenses and length of time in jail was also not disclosed. Efforts are underway to locate the remaining escapee, with family and friends being contacted for assistance. The escape occurred in Whiteriver, located about 135 miles southeast of Flagstaff. The authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the capture of the remaining fugitive.
