Ariz. Wildcats Beat Southern Utah 102-66
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Wildcats dominated Southern Utah on Saturday with a final score of 102-66, led by Anthony Dell’Orso’s 19 points and contributions from six other players in double figures. The Wildcats, boosted by four reserve players, had an impressive first half, going on a 35-7 run after being tied 20-20 to finish the half with a 55-23 lead.
Arizona shot 53% from the field, made 14 of 19 free throws, and forced 13 turnovers in the first half. The second half saw a more even performance from both teams, but Arizona maintained a comfortable lead throughout, with strong defense and shooting.
With this win, the Wildcats, who recently evened their record to 4-4, remain a dominant force at home, boasting a 50-4 record over the last three-plus seasons under coach Tommy Lloyd. Jamir Simpson led Southern Utah with 21 points, but it was not enough to overcome Arizona’s strong performance.
