A devastating fire at an apartment complex near Glendale left over a dozen people displaced and one dog dead on Sunday. Firefighters from multiple departments were called to the scene to battle the blaze at an apartment complex near 83rd and Glendale avenues. The two-story building was engulfed in flames, leading to the evacuation of all residents. Sadly, one dog did not survive the fire, while four others made it out safely. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the 20 individuals who have been displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to have started in one of the apartments. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, as the fire occurred on a county island. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragic event, and we are grateful for the quick response and efforts of the firefighters who worked to extinguish the flames.
