UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in Manhattan on his way to an investor conference, with the person of interest seen near a bus station after the crime. The suspect arrived in New York City from Atlanta on November 24 and checked into a hostel where he kept his mask on at all times. He was seen near the Hilton hotel around the time of the crime on December 4. The suspect was seen in Central Park and later at the George Washington Bridge before fleeing. Police have obtained surveillance footage of the suspect’s movements and are offering a $60,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny stated that the investigation is ongoing and involves detailed work. The NYPD is working with the police department in Atlanta to gather more information. Kenny emphasized that the case will take time to solve, and police are carefully examining all evidence. Once an arrest is made, the police will present the facts to a judge and jury to ensure justice for the victim and closure for his family.
