Brigham Young University quarterback Jake Retzlaff, the first Jewish quarterback in program history, has signed an NIL sponsorship with kosher food company Manischewitz. Retzlaff, known as “BYJew,” is one of three Jewish students at the university and has led the Cougars to a 10-2 record. Manischewitz, known for making kosher products, will produce limited-edition Jake Retzlaff Matzo Boxes to celebrate the partnership. Retzlaff, who has thrown for 2,796 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, grew up with Manischewitz products and is excited to share his traditions with his teammates. Through this partnership, Retzlaff hopes to create connections and celebrate Jewish pride. Manischewitz’s Chief Marketing Officer, Shani Seidman, expressed pride in welcoming Jake into the Manischewitz family and sees the partnership as an opportunity to celebrate heritage and excellence while supporting Retzlaff’s football career. The collaboration will include social media content sharing Retzlaff’s story and connection to Manischewitz, showcasing the intersection of athletic achievement and cultural heritage. Through this sponsorship, Retzlaff aims to bring awareness to Jewish food and culture while continuing his successful football career at BYU.
