High school safety Zeth Angel Thues from Liberty High School in Peoria recently announced his commitment to the Arizona State football program. Thues, a three-star recruit and the No. 9 player from Arizona for 2026, is the third player from his class to commit to head coach Kenny Dillingham’s team. He received offers from schools like Tennessee, San Diego State, and Washington State before ultimately choosing ASU.

Thues transferred to Liberty after playing for Saguaro, where he won a state championship in 2023. In his junior season at Liberty, he has recorded impressive stats including 50 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, and three interceptions. Thues was also in attendance for ASU’s recent victory over UCF.

Thues joins wide receiver Cooper Reid and quarterback Jake Fette as recent commitments to the ASU football program. Reid was one of three players who committed over the weekend, including 2025 recruits Chance Ables and Jordan Scott. Thues expressed his gratitude to his family, coaches, and teammates for their support on his journey to commit to ASU.

With Thues’ announcement, the Sun Devils are bolstering their roster with promising talent for the upcoming seasons. Fans and supporters can anticipate seeing Thues in action on the field, representing Arizona State with pride and determination.
