Arizona Cardinals Activate CB from Injured Reserve

[ad_1]
Arizona Cardinals rookie cornerback Elijah Jones, who has been on injured reserve for most of the season, has begun practicing with the team after being designated to return from IR. He has a 21-day window to practice and can be activated at any time during that period. If not elevated to the active roster within 21 days, he will return to injured reserve for the remainder of the season. Jones, a third-round pick out of Boston College, suffered a heel injury in preseason and has been sidelined since. General manager Monti Ossenfort praised Jones for his experience and maturity, noting his ability to play both inside and outside positions. Arizona’s defense has seen other cornerbacks step up in Jones’ absence, including Garrett Williams, Starling Thomas, and Max Melton. The team has until December 26 to decide whether to activate Jones or keep him on injured reserve. Jones’ return could provide a boost to the defense as the Cardinals push for a playoff spot.
