Universal’s “Wicked” and Paramount’s “Gladiator II” also performed well over the Thanksgiving weekend, with “Wicked” grossing $117.5 million and “Gladiator II” earning $44 million domestically. Overall, the holiday weekend saw a surge in box office revenue thanks to these major releases.
