Arizona State’s football team is one step closer to potentially making their first ever College Football Playoff appearance after a recent win against Arizona. However, despite their success, the Sun Devils still have to face Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game. Even if they win, it is not a guaranteed ticket to the playoff as the new 12-team format includes the five highest-ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked schools, regardless of conference. The top four conference champions will get byes into the quarterfinals.
Various bowl predictions have projected where Arizona State might end up during bowl season. Most predictions place them in the first round of the College Football Playoff, facing off against teams like Notre Dame and Penn State. Dates and locations for these games are still to be determined.
Upcoming on Arizona State’s football schedule is the Big 12 Championship game against Iowa State on Dec. 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Fans can tune in to the game on ABC, as well as catch play-by-play coverage on 98.7 FM, the Arizona Sports app, and ArizonaSports.com.
While the Sun Devils are in a good position, they still have to come out on top against Iowa State to keep their playoff hopes alive. Fans will have to stay tuned to see if Arizona State can continue their success and potentially secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.
