County 4-H is hosting an essay contest for students in various grade levels, with different topics to choose from. The deadline for submissions is December 10th. The guidelines for the contest vary based on the grade level of the student. Younger students are asked to write half a page on why they joined 4-H or their favorite 4-H event. Older students will write longer essays, focusing on ways to improve the 4-H program or their goals within 4-H. Entries must be submitted double-spaced, in 12 pt. Times New Roman font by the deadline. Submissions can be made in person or via email.
In addition to the essay contest, there is also a technology contest with entries due by January 17th. Participants can submit entries in various categories including flat flyers, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and digital media. All entries must be related to 4-H and follow specific guidelines regarding size, content, and format. Copyrighted material or trademarked designs are not allowed. Virtual submissions are encouraged, and entries should be emailed to the coordinator for review.
For more information on these contests or any other 4-H events and activities, interested individuals are encouraged to contact the OSU Extension Office. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and knowledge while participating in the 4-H program. Winning entries will be recognized and celebrated at the County Fair.
