Arizona Cardinals right tackle Kelvin Beachum was ruled inactive for the team’s Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions due to a hamstring injury. Beachum’s absence adds to the challenges faced by the Cardinals’ offensive line, which was already missing starting right tackle Jonah Williams. To fill Beachum’s spot, the team will likely turn to offensive lineman Jackson Barton, who was elevated from the practice squad for the second consecutive week.
In addition to Beachum, other Cardinals players listed as inactive for the game include cornerback Darren Hall, linebackers Jesse Luketa and Victor Dimukeje, offensive lineman Jon Gaines II, tight end Travis Vokolek, and wide receiver Xavier Weaver. On the Lions’ side, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., linebackers Alex Anzalone and James Houston, offensive linemen Giovanni Manu and Colby Sorsdal, and wide receiver Isaiah Williams are inactive.
Despite these setbacks, the Cardinals received some good news with the active status of slot man Greg Dortch and defensive lineman Dante Stills. Having Dortch available could be significant for the Cardinals’ offense, especially considering the vulnerability of the Lions’ defense to slot receivers in recent games.
Fans can tune in to watch the Cardinals face the Lions at 1:25 p.m. on the Arizona Sports app, 98.7, and ArizonaSports.com. For more updates on the game and the team, follow @Tdrake4sports.
