In a dominating performance, No. 14 Kentucky women’s basketball team defeated Arizona State 77-61 in the Music City Classic, maintaining their perfect record with six wins in a row. Clara Strack led the Wildcats’ offense with an impressive 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Teonni Key added 16 points. Georgia Amoore contributed 20 points and nine rebounds, with Amelia Hassett adding eight points and nine rebounds. The Wildcats shot 42% from the field and capitalized on 13 points off 14 Arizona State turnovers.
Despite a strong effort from Jalyn Brown with 16 points and Nevaeh Parkinson with 12 points and nine rebounds, Arizona State could not keep up, shooting just 30% from the field. The Sun Devils managed to cut the lead to 11 after three quarters but were unable to sustain the comeback. Kentucky led 42-23 at halftime after outscoring Arizona State 27-9 in the second quarter. The Wildcats face No. 19 Illinois next, while Arizona State takes on South Dakota in the Music City Classic.
