Former NHL player and TNT hockey analyst Paul Bissonnette was assaulted by six men during an altercation at a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. The incident occurred after Bissonnette intervened in a dispute between the men and restaurant staff when they were asked to leave.
The men started throwing punches at Bissonnette after he tried to calm the situation, both inside and outside the restaurant. The six men were later arrested and are facing charges of assault and disorderly conduct. One of the men also had a fraudulent military identification card in his possession.
Bissonnette described the altercation in detail on the “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast, explaining that he was being pushed and thrown punches both inside the bar and in the parking lot. Despite the assault, Bissonnette managed to hold his ground and fight back.
Bissonnette played in the NHL for six seasons before transitioning to a role as an NHL analyst for TNT in 2021. The Scottsdale Police have confirmed the incident and are investigating the assault.
