Arizona Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill President-elect Donald Trump
Manuel Tamayo-Torres has been arrested after posting videos online in which he threatened to kill President-elect Donald Trump and members of Trump’s family. The videos showed him brandishing an AR-15-style rifle and making menacing statements. Tamayo-Torres accused Trump and his family of kidnapping and sex-trafficking his children in the videos.
Charging documents filed in federal court in Arizona revealed that Tamayo-Torres made threatening remarks towards “Individual 1,” who was described as a former president and current president-elect. In one video, Tamayo-Torres is seen holding up a rifle and issuing a threat towards “Individual 1.”
Tamayo-Torres has been charged with making threats against the president-elect and making false statements during the purchase of a firearm. He has a prior felony assault conviction and was served with an order of protection by his ex-wife last year. Tamayo-Torres was arrested in Southern California and his lawyer has not yet commented on the case.
