The Arizona Fall League’s annual Fall Stars Game is set to kick off on Saturday at Sloan Park, featuring Diamondbacks infield prospects Tommy Troy and Gino Groover. Troy, Arizona’s first-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, has turned his fall season around after a slow start, ranking among the AFL leaders in several offensive categories. Groover, the Diamondbacks’ second-round selection, has also impressed with a .370 batting average and an .833 OPS in 15 games. Outfielder Kristian Robinson just missed the roster after a fan vote. Robinson has had a strong fall season with a .322 batting average and has excelled in stolen bases.
The game will feature six top 100 prospects, including the Royals’ Jac Caglianone and the Padres’ Leodalis De Vries. The AFL Home Run Derby will take place on Friday, with exciting prospects like Caglianone and Moises Ballesteros participating. Adult tickets for the Fall Stars Game are $20, while seniors and youth can attend for $15. Children 10 and under can attend for free.
Other Diamondbacks minor leaguers who have shined in the AFL this season include pitchers Yu-Min Lin and Dylan Ray. The Fall Stars Game will be televised on MLB Network, starting at 6 p.m. from Sloan Park, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs. Fans can follow the action on social media for updates on the Diamondbacks prospects and other top prospects participating in the game.
